about
Party Person is about being desired by someone only when inebriated and only when other people aren’t around. It started as one of my first times testing out writing full songs on the guitar. I had experimented before but mostly stuck to synths and ukulele, but when a friend let me borrow his electric guitar I dove right in to making small demos and party person was one of many that sat for two years before I ever finished it. I had only the chorus written but I always came back to listen to it and it really stuck with me. I ended up pushing myself to finish it when I started playing live sets and didn’t have enough songs to play, and 3 years after the first demo brought it to my friend and producer Isaac Elmont. Isaac wrote a synth string arrangement to start off the song and we ended up going in a different direction with the recording than what I had been playing live. We also got the help of Cade Murdock(Transmitter) with getting the right tones for the electric guitar, and artist and producer Bly Wallentine mastered the track.
